Why you’ll love these Valentine’s mocktails

  • Quick and easy: Both recipes come together in just a few minutes with minimal ingredients.
  • Festive and refreshing: The bright colors and fresh ingredients make these drinks perfect for Valentine’s Day.
  • Low in sugar: Thanks to the fruity flavors from Olipop and fresh ingredients, there’s low amounts of sugar in these mocktails.

Why they’re perfect for Valentine’s Day

These mocktails capture the essence of Valentine’s Day with vibrant pinks and reds from strawberries and tart cherry juice, complemented by festive garnishes like diced strawberries and rosemary sprigs. They’re naturally sweet without being overly indulgent, making them perfect for pairing with Valentine’s treats and sharing with a loved one or a group of friends.

Are these mocktails healthy?

Yes! Here’s why they’re a better-for-you beverage choice:

  • Gut-friendly ingredients: Both mocktails use a base of Olipop, a prebiotic soda that contains fiber, plant botanicals, and far less sugar compared to traditional sodas. Each Olipop only has 2-5 grams of added sugar!
  • Antioxidant-rich: The strawberries and tart cherry juice are packed with antioxidants that can help reduce inflammation.
  • Low in added sugar: Unlike traditional cocktails or sugary sodas, these mocktails are sweetened with fruit juices lower sugar Olipop, keeping the sugar content in check.

Ingredients you’ll need

For the Strawberry Vanilla Cream Soda:

  • Strawberry Vanilla Olipop: This prebiotic soda adds a fizzy, fruity-vanilla flavor that’s lightly sweetened and gut-friendly.
  • Strawberry protein shake (of your choice): Adds a creamy texture and a boost of protein. Choose dairy-based or plant-based depending on your preference.
  • Fresh strawberries: Diced into small pieces for a fresh, juicy garnish that adds color and flavor.

For the Cherry Lime Fizz:

  • Lemon Lime Olipop: A crisp, citrusy soda that pairs perfectly with the tartness of cherry juice.
  • Tart cherry juice: Full of antioxidants and natural tartness that balances the sweetness of the soda.
  • Fresh herbs: Rosemary adds an aromatic, earthy note that complements the bright flavors of the drink. You can also use a different type of herb though!

Recipe tips and tricks

  • Serving suggestions: Pair these mocktails with heart-shaped yogurt strawberries, a Valentine’s charcuterie board, or individual Valentine’s charcuterie cups!
  • Troubleshooting: If the drink is too sweet for your taste, you can always add a splash of sparkling water to balance it out. On the other hand, if it’s not sweet enough, try adding a bit of honey or liquid stevia.
  • Scaling tips: Hosting a larger gathering? Simply double or triple the ingredients and serve in a large pitcher. Add fresh ice and garnishes just before serving to keep it crisp.

Customize it your way

Like all of my other recipes, these Valentine’s mocktails are completely customizable. You get to choose the ingredients you want to use. Here are some ideas:

  • Protein shake of your choice: Use vanilla almond milk, coconut cream, or a dairy-free protein shake if preferred.
  • Herb of your choice: Swap rosemary with mint, basil, or even a cinnamon stick to change up the flavor profile.
  • Feel free to mix up the Olipop flavor: You can try out flavors like Banana Cream or Peaches & Cream for a fun twist.

Can I make them ahead of time?

Yes, you can mix the liquid ingredients a few hours ahead of time and store them in the fridge. Wait to add ice and fresh garnishes until just before serving to keep the drinks fresh and fizzy.

How do I store leftovers?

If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 day. Keep in mind the fizz may fade slightly, so consider adding a splash of fresh Olipop when serving again.

Whether you’re planning a cozy date night, a Galentine’s get-together, or just treating yourself, these mocktails are sure to add a sweet touch to your celebration.
