These sausage kabobs with colorful veggies make the perfect better-for-you option to serve at tailgating or cookouts. Ready to go in 20 minutes with no marinating required!

What are kabobs?
Kabobs are made up of cut meat and/or vegetables which are threaded onto a skewers and grilled. They are especially popular around summertime and for tailgating season. For this recipe, we are using a mixture of sausage and vegetables.
What sausage should I use?
You can use any flavor of sausage, just make sure it’s already fully cooked. I like to use Teton Waters Ranch sausages because they contain just a few ingredients you can actually pronounce and theyโre grass-fed, which allows them to have higher amounts of omega 3s compared to conventional beef.
Omega 3 fats are a type of unsaturated fat that are very beneficial for us in a number of ways. It’s best know for it’s heart health benefits but it’s also great for our brain health, protecting against stroke, and fighting off inflammation.
You can also use this sausage for sheet pan jambalaya or tuscan soups.
What vegetables should I use?
In the recipe card, I’ve written the specific vegetables I like to use, but feel free to mix it up with any veggies you like best. Just be sure to use quick cooking vegetables and avoid tougher vegetables like potatoes, beets, and squash. Before you thread your veggies onto the skewer, cut them into chunks.

- Yellow Squash
- Broccoli
- Mushrooms

- Corn on the cob
- Carrots

Sausage Kabobs

Ingredients
- 8-10 wooden skewers , soaked in water at least 30 minutes before cooking
- 1 medium orange bell pepper, cut into chunks
- 1 medium zucchini, cut into 1 inch slices
- 1 small red onion, cut into chunks
- 8 ounces white whole mushrooms
- 1 – 10 ounce package fully cooked sausage of your choice, cut into 1 inch pieces (I like to use any flavor of Teton Waters Ranch sausages)
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat grill to medium high heat (350 to 375ยบF).
- Alternate threading various vegetables and sausage between 4 skewers.
- Combine olive oil, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt and pepper in a small bowl. Generously brush olive oil mixture onto kabobs.
- Add kabob skewers to grill and cook, turning occasionally until the vegetables and sausage start to brown, about 8-10 minutes.
