What is an apple cider mocktail?

An apple cider mocktail is a non-alcoholic beverage that blends apple cider with sparkling elements like apple soda water or Olipop. It’s designed to feel festive and flavorful—without the alcohol. This one is actually high in fiber with 5 grams of fiber per mocktail.

Why is fiber important?

As a registered dietitian, I always emphasize getting enough fiber throughout the day—and beverages like this can be a sneaky way to help hit your goals. Most adults should aim for 25-35 grams of fiber per day.

Fiber is essential for:

  • Supporting gut health: It feeds the good bacteria in your digestive system, keeping everything running smoothly.
  • Balancing blood sugar: Soluble fiber helps slow the absorption of sugar into the bloodstream, which supports energy stability.
  • Reducing disease risk: Studies show that a high-fiber diet may lower the risk of heart disease, colon cancer, and type 2 diabetes

Is this apple cider mocktail healthy?

This Apple Cider Mocktail delivers that with a perfect combo of nutrient-packed ingredients with flavor.

  • Prebiotics soda: I love enjoying OLIPOP which is a prebiotic soda that has 6 to 9 grams of fiber per can — over a third of your daily needs — plus it has a functional ingredient blend that supports gut health.
  • Unsweetened apple cider: You’ll get polyphenols, aka antioxidants, that may help reduce inflammation and support heart health.
  • Fruit garnish: The orange and apple slices add vitamin C and natural sweetness—no syrups required.

What ingredients do you need?

Here’s everything you need to make this mocktail magic happen:

  • Sugar + cinnamon: For rimming the glass. Gives the first sip a warm, cozy flavor boost.
  • OLIPOP Crisp Apple: This is my go-to for fizzy apple flavor and added gut health perks. You can also sub an apple flavored sparkling water, or apple flavored kombucha if preferred.
  • Unsweetened apple cider: Look for one with no added sugars for the best nutrition boost.
  • Fresh garnishes: I love a thin apple slice, orange wedge, and a cinnamon stick for a festive touch.

How do you make an apple cider mocktail?

Follow these easy steps to mix up your mocktail:

1. Rim your glass: Wet the rim of a tall glass with a little water or apple juice. Dip into a shallow plate of cinnamon sugar until coated.

2. Add ice: Fill your glass with ice about halfway.

3. Pour and stir: Add the OLIPOP and apple cider and stir gently to combine.

4. Garnish and serve: Top with a fresh apple slice, orange slice, and a cinnamon stick. Sip and enjoy!

Recipe tips and tricks

  • Serving: This mocktail is best served fresh, right after mixing to keep the bubbles bubbly. If making for a group, set up a DIY mocktail bar with different garnishes and let guests rim their own glasses!
  • Troubleshooting: If your mocktail tastes too sweet, try adding a splash of lemon juice or sparkling water to balance it out.
  • Scaling: Hosting a party? Scale up the ingredients and mix in a pitcher—just hold off on adding the bubbly part until right before serving to preserve the fizz.

Customize it your way

Like all of my recipes, this Apple Cider Mocktail is completely customizable. Choose what cider or fizz you want to use:

  • Bubbly of your choice: I used Olipop Crisp Apple here, but feel free to swap with an apple-flavored sparkling water or apple-flavored kombucha
  • Feel free to mix up the garnishes: Add fresh cranberries, rosemary sprigs, star anise, or even a slice of pear to jazz things up. Have fun with it!

Can I make this apple cider mocktail ahead of time?

This mocktail is best served fresh so it stays fizzy, but you can prep all the garnishes ahead of time so it’s ready to go.
