What is a yogurt bowl?

A yogurt bowl is essentially just what it sounds likeโ€”a bowl filled with yogurt and other toppings of your choice! Itโ€™s super easy to make yet looks very impressive.

How to make a yogurt bowl step by step

What ingredients do I need?

Youโ€™ll need just 4 ingredients to make this yogurt bowlโ€”Greek yogurt, coconut flakes, Munk Pack Keto Nut & Seed Bars, and agave.

  • First, add your yogurt to a bowl. One cup of Greek yogurt packs in 17 grams of protein, which aids muscle recovery and helps you feel fuller longer.
  • Then, sprinkle over toasted coconut. Toasting coconut brings out a nuttier, sweeter flavor. To toast coconut, add it to a pan and heat over medium-low heat for 3-5 minutes. Be sure to stir often and immediately remove it from the heat once itโ€™s all browned.
  • Top with chopped crunchy bars. I love these Coconut Almond Dark Chocolate Keto Nut & Seed Bars because they are filled with nutritious ingredients and are so delicious. Click here to check out all their tasty bar options. Plus, you can use my code โ€œCHEERFULโ€ to save 20% off your order!
  • Drizzle over optional agave. If you need a little extra sweetness or want that pretty presentation, finish by drizzling over a touch of agave.

Yogurt bowls make a delicious breakfast or snack.

This easy bowl is one I have on repeat throughout the week. Itโ€™s the perfect protein-packed recipe to enjoy for breakfast or for a snack.

Munk Pack bars elevate this yogurt bowl to another level. They add major flavor and crunch in a matter of seconds! With only 2-3 grams of net carbs, they are keto-friendly and perfect for those watching their sugar intake. These bars are also ideal to enjoy on their own for a grab-and-go snack.

Are Munk Pack bars healthy?

As a dietitian, I love how well-balanced these bars are. Each Munk Pack Keto Nut & Seed Bar contains 150 calories or less with up to 5 grams of fiber and 6 grams of protein. This protein and fiber helps keep us fuller and more satisfied for longer.

These bars are also low in sugar and contain no grams of added sugars. Instead, they are sweetened from allulose.

Learn all about allulose including the benefits of allulose and how many calories it has

What is allulose?

Allulose, also known as d-psicose, is a type of โ€œrareโ€ sugar found in certain foods like figs, raisins, jackfruit, maple syrup, molasses, wheat, and brown sugar.

Allulose itself is not widely available on grocery store shelves, but you can purchase it online in both granulated and liquid forms. For most recipes and applications, it can serve as a one-to-one replacement for sugar.

What are the health benefits of allulose?

Allulose has just 0.4 calories per gram, which is about 90% less calories than regular sugar. So while itโ€™s not a zero-calorie sweetener, the calories are almost negligible. For this reason, the FDA allows allulose to be excluded from total and added sugars counts on the nutrition facts panel. However, it must still be included in the total grams of carbohydrates. Allulose may be a good option for those trying to decrease their overall calories or added sugars consumed throughout the day.

Unlike most sugars, allulose has little to no effect on insulin and blood sugar levels. This makes it a good choice for those with diabetes trying to stabilize their blood sugars. In fact, some research has shown allulose may help lower blood sugar levels after eating.

The research on allulose is definitely promising. However, keep in mind most studies are short-term or small scale so more research is needed here.

Are there any concerns with allulose?

The FDA considers allulose as โ€œgenerally recognized as safeโ€ (GRAS) allowing it to be purchased and used in various products.

Allulose can be consumed daily without any harmful side effects. However, if you commonly have tummy troubles like gas, bloating, and diarrheaโ€“keep your intake to a smaller amount.

For example, when youโ€™re enjoying Munk Pack allulose-sweetened bars, keep the serving to 1-2 bars at a time. A perfect example is crumbling one bar over your yogurt bowl and enjoying one later as a snack.
