What is a bruschetta board?

A bruschetta board is a platter filled with toasted baguette slices topped with a variety of ingredients. You can serve the baguette and ingredients separately or have them ready to eat. For this bruschetta trio, Iโ€™ve created three different flavor variations.

Just like charcuterie boards, they are definitely a crowd pleaser and so easy to make. Serve at brunch, holiday parties, or have the kids help make them as a fun weekend activity.

For this recipe, Iโ€™m showcasing bruschetta 3 waysโ€”canned tomato bruschetta, canned pear bruschetta, and canned peach bruschetta. All options are vegetarian!

Is bruschetta healthy?

Bruschetta is one of my all time favorite appetizers! It can definitely be a part of a healthy diet. These vegetarian bruschettas are especially good for you because they highlight canned fruits and vegetables as the star.

Are canned fruits and vegetables healthy?

Absolutely! All forms of produce (fresh, frozen, and canned) are extremely beneficial for us.

In fact, studies have shown those who regularly eat canned foods have overall healthier eating habits. We also know eating more fruits and vegetables can help lower the risk for certain diseases like heart disease, high blood pressure, and cancer.

How do you make this bruschetta trio?

These assorted bruschettas are super easy to whip up before a party as a snack or appetizer. Plus, weโ€™re using canned foods as a budget friendly option.

  1. First, toast the baguette slices. While you could probably get away with skipping this step, I wouldn’t recommend it. It helps create that desirable crunch.
  2. Next, decide what flavor variation you want to make. You can make tomato, pear, peach, or all three. Youโ€™ll put these ingredients over the baguette slices.
  3. Finally, plate and serve. Transfer your cute bruschettas to a wooden board or serving platter to enjoy. Easy and impressive!

Can you make this recipe ahead of time?

You can prep the toppings up to 2 days before making. You can also cut the baguette into slices ahead of time. Just make sure to wait until the day of to toast the baguettes and assemble them. This will help prevent overly stale or soft bruschetta.

Pick your favorite flavors

Like I mentioned, you can make one flavor or all three. The cheerful choice is yours!

If you want to have the full bruschetta trio, Iโ€™d recommend making all of them and buying about 3 large baguettes. If you end up with extra ingredient toppings, you can always add them over toast, chips, or salad throughout the week.

Feel free to customize the flavors your way too:

  • If you donโ€™t have fresh basil, you can swap 1/4 cup fresh basil for 1 tablespoon dried basil.
  • If you donโ€™t like chevre or goat cheese, switch it out for mozzarella or burrata cheese.
  • Follow a vegan diet? Substitute agave syrup for the honey.

If you make this bruschetta trio, Iโ€™d love to see it! Tag @cheerfulchoices and @pacificcoastproducers1971 and show us your bruschetta board!
