What is a fall charcuterie board?

A charcuterie board is a board filled with a variety of bite sized ingredients. For this festive board, we’re adding over seasonal ingredients like apples, cranberries, and mini pumpkin spiced donut rounds.

This charcuterie board is unique because it contains mostly sweet ingredients with a touch of umami from the cheeses. This board is perfect to put together during the autumn months or have out during Thanksgiving time.

Is this board healthy?

As a dietitian, I love putting together snack boards because they contain a great balance of ingredients with protein and fiber. These are two nutrients that allow us to feel fuller longer.

Plus, the real star of the show here is 2Betties—a better-for-you sweet treat that tastes SO GOOD! I love how these 2Betties donut-shaped snacks contain just a few simple, nourishing ingredients like almond meal, honey, and spices.

2Betties are also gluten free, dairy free, grain free, and peanut free–making them suitable for all types of dietary preferences. Each snacking round contains just 100 calories while packing in 3 grams of protein.

I like to add their Pumpkin Spice and Maple Cinnamon rounds to this board for tons of festive flavor!

How to make a fall charcuterie board

This board is completely customizable. That means you can pick and choose your favorites from each section! There are 6 main components to add to your board.

1. Fruits

Fruits are brimming with important vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients (aka compounds that keep us healthy).

Start by filling your board with fresh fruit, dried fruit, or a mixture of both. You could also add jellies or chia seed jam. Here are some seasonal fruits to add.

2. Cheeses

Cheese is the perfect ingredient to add to your fall snack board because it pairs perfectly with all the other items. You’ll notice we’ve kept this board vegetarian, but if you could definitely add over some sliced meats too.

Every 1 ounce of cheese contains around 7 grams of satiating protein. Here are some cheeses to try.

3. Crackers

Crackers and dippers provide whole grain energy to the board. There are tons of options out there so feel free to display a variety for everyone to enjoy.

4. Nuts

Nuts are an easy way to fill any open spots on your board. They provide great crunch while also supplying plant-based protein and healthy fats like monounsaturated fats.

I will often buy nuts in bulk for cost savings. Here are a few different nut choices.

5. Healthy Donut Snack Rounds

Now this fall charcuterie board isn’t complete without a festive treat! To satisfy those sweet cravings, you’ll want to add a few packages of 2Betties donut-shaped snacking rounds to your board.

These snack rounds are filled with nuts, seeds, and spices—making them a great source of protein and fiber. Plus, each snack round contains just 4 grams of sugar (they are lightly sweetened from maple syrup and honey). This means you can feel good about treating yourself without a sugar crash!

6. Herbs

While herbs aren’t required, they help bring this board together and make it look super appetizing and Instagram-worthy.

After you’ve devoured the board, be sure to save the herbs. You can use them in recipes like nut-crusted salmon or chicken salad.

Here are a few of my favorite aromatic herbs to tuck into the corners of charcuterie boards.
